Calculate your semester GPA accurately using the official SRM IST grading system. Designed for SRM Institute of Science and Technology, this tool supports all 54 B.Tech branches under the 2021 regulation.
Your GPA is calculated as: GPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credits) / Σ(Credits). Each grade is converted to points on a 10-point scale.
| Grade | Points | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| O (Outstanding) | 10 | 91–100 |
| A+ | 9 | 81–90 |
| A | 8 | 71–80 |
| B+ | 7 | 61–70 |
| B | 6 | 56–60 |
| C | 5 | 50–55 |
| P (Pass) | 4 | 40–49 |
| F (Fail) | 0 | Below 40 |
All credits are from the official SRM IST 2021 curriculum. Step-by-step guide · Understanding GPA
GPA (Grade Point Average) is basically the magic number that decides your fate every sem. At SRM IST, it runs on a 10-point scale. Hitting a 10 means you bagged that sweet O grade, while getting a 0 means... well, you caught an arrear and gotta write it again.
Trust me bro, your sem GPA is literally everything. It decides if you get placed with a fat package, grabs you those scholarships, and slowly builds up your main CGPA over the four years we spend here.
I used to think GPA was just adding up marks and dividing them, but at SRM IST it's not a simple average. It's all about credits. High credit subjects will either pull your GPA up or drag it down super hard.
Let's say you guys only have 3 subjects in a sem (lol, if only, right?):
| Subject | Grade | Points | Credits | Points × Credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Math | A+ | 9 | 4 | 36 |
| Physics | A | 8 | 3 | 24 |
| Programming | O | 10 | 4 | 40 |
| Total | 11 | 100 |
GPA = 100 ÷ 11 = 9.09
SRM IST has like 54+ B.Tech branches under the 2021 regulation, each with totally different subjects and credits per sem. Back in my 3rd sem, my roommate messed this up once and miscalculated his whole GPA manually. Our calculator automatically loads the correct subjects and credits for your specific branch and semester — you guys just select your grades and chill.
| Purpose | Minimum GPA/CGPA |
